As far back as I can remember I have had a deep and abiding love for simple shapes, pop colors, and delicious textures and At age 7, I taught myself to sew mod shift dresses for my barbies out of fabric scraps on my mom's golden 1972 singer. Around the same age I learned to knit and crochet (crazy patchwork afghans and white lace doilies, respectively) in an after school program in my hometown of San Diego, California.

Many years later - after traveling around India, living and studying in England (with my daughter Kaya - now 13) and wandering around Europe and North Africa - I settled down in California... again. This time in Berkeley (same town as my alma mater) where I fell in love, got hitched, and grew my family. after the birth of my second child - Sylas (4) - I began laying the foundation for what has become Oishii ("delicious" in Japanese - pronounced "oy-she").

The original concept for Oishii was born of my belief that every baby needs a beautiful, all-natural, incredibly soft knit cap. Over the last two years, Oishii has grown from a small collection of one-of-a-kind infant hats to a well-curated selection of luxury, eco-friendly knits for women and children.

I design and handcraft each collection in small batches to ensure each product is well-loved, well-designed, and well-crafted. I love what I do and hope you do too!
